How NY Women Stay Thin part 3

So these posts have gotten pretty popular. I also got some of my guy friends and colleaugues from all over the states involved…so I’m going to change the title…stay tuned as I will be posting Top Three Tips for a Healthy and Inspired Life from real world fitness, wellness & nutrition experts over the next few days….

Jess Dub

Jessica is amazing…she is a reservoir of love & positive energy….we have worked together for years…she trained consistently through her pregnancies and has two awesome baby boys, the coolest & most supportive husband and a really funny dog named Charlie. Here are her top tips…

1.  Eat whole foods that suit your body.  The “if it wasn’t on the planet 10,000 years ago, don’t eat it” rule is so simple and so true.

2.  Train 5x week (unless too exhausted, then rest and relax). Combine functional training and pilates with sort bursts of intense cardio.

3.  Be curious. Seek out information and inspiration to stay motivated.

Steph

Stephanie plays volleyball, tennis, rides bikes, skis, goes climbing and is a real world outdoor fitness rockstar…I love how she keeps it simple and here are her simple tips to an awesome life…

1) Fail to Plan = Plan to Fail - in terms of food preparation, this rule never fails.

2) Sleep and recovery are critical for success - sleeping undisturbed between 10 PM and 2 AM are key to energy, clarity, weight loss and digestion…then sleeping until 6:30 or 7 AM for full physical regeneration.

3) Water, water, water!!!

Got more great tips coming so stay tuned….and have an awesome weekend!

How New York Women Stay Thin

I have specialized in women’s fitness and fat loss in NYC for 15 years. I don’t work with everyone who applies to work with me. The reason is that not everyone is ready for the work that is involved in getting awesome results…seriously, millions of people are big talkers or they are still looking for the ‘quick fix’

So I recently asked my most successful clients what worked best for them for staying lean and healthy. Here are some of their responses…(notice what NONE of them talk about). This is Francesca…

Francesca originally was a client of mine for several years and also went through my Fitness & Nutrition Coach Development Program and is now a very successful woman’s Fitness & Nutrition Coach. Here are her favorite tips for staying lean, healthy and fabulous…

1. Focus on thinking & making statements in line with what you want not what you don’t want. i.e thinking/saying “I’m beautiful” or “I love the way my arms look” rather than “I’m fat”.

2. Don’t listen to what “everyone else” is doing. Learn what works for you which may mean changing your diet and exercise habits completely the other way.

3. Take it one day/one step at a time, keeping the big picture in mind.

These 3 tips come from my own experience. I’ve never been more confident or happier about myself .

This is Jaime, co-author of Healthy Urban Kitchen Cookbook…Jaime was on a raw food vegan diet which wreaked havoc on her body and mind.

Welcome to my New Blog! and more Hidden Sources of Weight Gain

Check out my new blog!

Looks good doesn’t it?

I’m going to be adding all kinds of cool features including videos, interviews and a cool forum so you guys & gals can participate a bit more….

The forum should be up in a few days.

You will be able to meet others around the world who share similar interests in holistic health, fitness, fat loss, organic food, etc

You can ask questions and get answers from me or my team of experts, some of my friends and even my clients will be in on all the action!

We will also have sections for Recipes, Eating Disorders and Cancer Recovery

Now, back to hidden causes of weight gain…

Remember, getting fat has very little to do with eating fat…

It has more to do with eating sugar, processed foods, not eating for your unique metabolic requirements, skipping meals and eating these hidden food allergens or other problem ingredients that can trigger all sorts of health problems, weight gain being just one of them.

After these past 3 or 4 posts, you should have a pretty advanced understanding of common food issues that can make you sick, fat and tired.

You should have also learned that the smartest way to get healthy and lose fat is PAY ATTENTION to how you feel after you eat and look for patterns. This will help you identify food allergens or even common crappy foods that are labeled ‘health food’ that you may not work well for you.

The next most important lesson I have for you is a question…

In order for me to make this blog more exciting and more focused on YOU and your concerns, I need y’all to speak up a bit…

What is your most pressing health question?

What is it that you really want to know?

What questions do you have that keep you lying awake at night???

Is it Fat Loss?

Is it your pooch belly???

Do you want to know more about organic food or how to balance your brain chemistry through foods?

Do you want to know the truth about the raw Foods Diet or other trends?

Do you want me to review popular books or magazines so you don’t waster your time with crappy ones?

Do you want to know what to eat?

Please feel free to share your opinions, questions and concerns with me on this blog.

Biggest Mistake in Women’s Fat Loss

I want to share with you the biggest mistake I have seen in my 15 years as a fitness & nutrition professional:

Its the ‘one size fits all approach’ to exercise, eating and lifestyle.

Look, the majority of nutrition ‘experts’ today and practically every magazine and email newsletter I have ever seen constantly regurgitate the same guidelines that everyone else has for the past 30 years — and even though it CLEARLY isn’t working, we are inundated with the same generic ‘one size fits all’ info daily.

However…

YOU are UNIQUE.
Your eating, exercise and lifestyle needs are unique.

You dont buy cookie cutter dresses that every one else is wearing out of a Sears catalog do you?
No, most women I know do a lot of ‘research’ in fashion magazines and people watching and are expert shoppers.
They are crystal clear on what they will or will not wear.

You dont randomly pick and choose what some anonymous author or editor tells you to wear – do you?

Yet, when it comes to eating & exercise – thats exactly what I see & hear almost daily.

How do you know how unique you are?

Your mom probably gave you some insight in to this as a child…and if she is like my mom, she still tells you how special you are (even as an adult) :-)

But when it comes to eating & exercise, if you are not working with an expert,
I suggest getting Paul Chek’s book ‘How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy.’

It has a simple questionnaire to tell you:

What your individual requirements for eating are.

What level of stress you have which is how you determine what type of exercise you should do to get the best results.

Stress Management Exercises to reduce specific stress you may face.

Also, over the next 4 weeks, I am going to cover Hidden Sources of Fat and Reasons Why You Cant Lose Fat.

You may be able to find something you have been doing that is inhibiting your fat loss results, so stay tuned to the next 4 weeks of newsletters.

By the way…..
I dont make any mo.ney promoting Paul Chek’s book.
But I do see hundreds of people getting amazing results because they got this book.

Go to amazon now and get it now

If you already have it, stay tuned to the next 4 newsletters for hidden issues that may be stopping you from sculpting a killer body and flattening your abs forever!

Are Your Beauty Products Making You Fat?

The world ‘organic’ is not carefully regulated on personal skincare and beauty products like it is used on food.

These days, because government policy is heavily influenced by food manufacturing industries, the only way to know what you are truly getting is to do a little research into the companies you purchase to see if they are truly organic.

If you want to be healthy and lose fat, eating organic and using organic skincare products is essential.

Why?

Your body stores toxins in fat.

If your skincare products do not have the green USDA label on it, your products most likely contain synthetic ingredients (toxins) that are making you fat, tired and may cause serious damage to your reproductive system as well as give you cancer.

Government, industry and academic studies consistently show that ingredients in common skincare products are linked to cancer, developmental /reproductive toxicity, alleriges & other immunotoxic issues, neurotoxic (poisonous to the brain), endocrine disruptors (damage your homronal system), persistant and bio-accumulation, organ system toxicity, skin/eye/lung irritation and may have other contamination issues.

There are huge loopholes in the public health laws governing these industries that allow manufacturers to include toxic ingredients and not list them, including those which are illegal and well known to be toxic and carcinogenic – even things like lead, mercury, and placenta.

Commercially produced skincare, frangrances and ‘beauty’ products may be destroying your health and your ability to lose weight and get pregnant.

The avergae American woman actually ingests (eats) about 5 lbs of make up through her skin each year. The popular saying ‘You Are What You Eat’ takes on a whole new meaning here, doesn’t it?

If you want to be healthy, lose fat, improve your mood, brain chemistry and prevent disease – go organic. Not just in your food, but in your skincare and beauty products.

Here is a list of websites with REAL healthy, organic products that are safe for you, your baby and our planet.

www.bestorganicsforhealth.com
www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org – click on Cosmetics Companies and Breast Cancer
www.cosmeticsdatabase.com
www.ewg.org
www.organicconsumers.org
www.mercola.com

Remember, if you want to be successful in health, fitness and permanent fat loss – you need 3 things:
The Right Nutrition
The Right Exercise
The Right Mindset

Part of having the right mindset is knowledge. Knowledge of the companies you are supporting and making sure that the stuff you put on your skin and in your body are naturally pure, free from harmful chemicals that will disrupt your hormomal system’s ability to burn fat and be healthy.

Happy shopping!
Antonio
