How to Make Ginger Tea

Now that winter is upon us, I thought I would share some simple strategies to help you stay healthy throughout the season. The first is a simple ginger tea recipe I have been using for almost 20 year to prevent or treat colds and flu. Iit has always worked and has never lets me down.

I discovered ginger tea when I was living in India in the early 90’s. I went there with the the guys in punk rock band and we traveled, studied and lived the yoga lifestyle first hand. I had an amazing experience that would change my life forever.

How to Shop at the Farmer’s Market (part 1)

I love food. I eat a lot and shop often at farmers markets, health food stores, Whole Foods (Trader Joes, Jimbos) and occasionally at larger, old school grocery stores (Dag, Publix, etc). I also order foods & groceries online.

When I shop for groceries, I get the FRESHEST, most NUTRIENT-DENSE foods possible. I shop about 3-4 days a week. Real food is one of my highest priorities and whatever is high on your priorities, you’ll always find a way to get it done.

I’ve streamlined and mastered the art of shopping for healthy food at farmers markets across the country. This post will show you how to do the same.

Indy Car Racing and Your Health

I’m in Florida right now visiting my family. My Cuban family lives in Miami where I grew up. Miami is a beautiful city and yes, really hot. It can be cheesy at times, but if you know where to go and what to do, it’s an absolutely amazing place!

My mother, on the other hand, is from New Zealand, where she was the first professional female race car driver. So naturally, I am a big fan of racing sports. This past weekend, I went to the Indy Car Championship Race in Miami and I want to share a cool analogy with you…

In Florida, much like southern California, many people spend more money on their cars than they do on their own health. Then, when they are older, they then spend most of their energy & life savings managing disease and dysfunction.

Buffalo “Chop” Salad

This recipe comes from a chef who understands nutrition and uses nothing but real food…Check out this raw, enzyme & nutrient rich, fat burning buffalo recipe with Chef Frank Giglio…

This recipe can easily be called a tartar, but to keep this always changing, I thought I would call it a “chop” salad.  I prefer buffalo, free range if possible and of course grass fed.  If buffalo is not

Mountain Bike Workouts in NYC

A few years ago I offered a very cool & totally unique outdoor workout called Mountain Bike Adventures. It was rated ‘Best Workout in NYC’ and not only did my clients, but I also loved it! It’s such a great way to workout outdoors instead of being cooped up in some gym or crowded health club. I just launched my Mountain Bike workouts again in the mornings in Central Park and along the Hudson River at sunset.  For more details, check out the website and click on the link below….

Click HERE to check out the Mountain BIke Workouts website and sign up for class details. If you don’t have your own mountain bike, you can easily rent a bike & helmet and enjoy NYC like very few people get to. Burn fat & enjoy spectacular views along Hudson river during sunsets in the fall or get up early Saturday mornings and ride through Central Park. Go to www.nycmountainbike.com for more details.
